About Senior Care Planning

For over 40 years, I have been enthusiastic about working with seniors and their families promoting independence, dignity and creating a safe living environment to meet personal needs. My passion is to provide advocacy, caregiver and family support, coordination of services, and refer older adults and their families to my network of quality community resources in South Florida.

I knew very early on, that my passion was in working with older adults in a health care environment. In high school, I volunteered as a Candy Striper in Chicago hospitals and volunteered for the Special Olympics. While attending college, I worked as a Nursing Assistant in a Rehabilitation Center Southern Illinois. With my desire to continue on my professional health care path, I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Education and a Master’s Degree in Social Work.

As my love for health care continued, I pursued my professional career in two South Florida hospitals working as a Medical Social Worker. These experiences lead to the positions of a Director of Social Work, Sales and Marketing, Admissions Director, Assistant Administrator and ultimately, a promotion to an Administrator position in a Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. After 24 years of working in a skilled nursing setting, continuing to enjoy working with seniors and their families, I transitioned into an Administrator’s position in an Assisted Living community.

As my parents and close relatives were going through the aging process, I recognized that, for them, there was a tremendous frustration level with navigating through the health care maze. There was a great inability to communicate with health care professionals. The lack of understanding, the overwhelming amount of information being given, and the inability to recall information was challenging.

Marlene Lieberman - Owner

The endless calls, “Marlene, help me”, “go with me”, “talk to them”, “be my eyes and ears”, reinforced my desire and awareness of needing to be an advocate for not only my family but for others in the community. The calls from my siblings, “Marlene…you do the leg work, I will take care of the rest,” worked well. When my quiet, soft spoken father said to me, “I don’t know what I would do without you …you know everyone,” I knew right then and there, my calling was to continue to advocate for seniors and their families, in addition to my own. Hence, Senior Care Planning was created.

I am proud to be a Certified Senior Advisor and a Certified Care Manager. With a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and Licenses in Nursing Home and Assisted Living Administration, it gives me the opportunity to use my background to personalize solutions for every client I work with. My excellent communication skills give my clients peace of mind, whether they live close or far away. I believe, the best peace of mind, is trusting a compassionate, caring professional. My friends tell me when I speak to older adults, it brings a smile to my face and peace in my heart ….it truly does. “Each client is treated as if they are my own family.”

You will find that I am trustworthy, honest, knowledgeable, and passionate about finding solutions for everyone involved!
