When I met Marlene, she was the Administrator at Renaissance Assisted Living Facility in Deerfield Beach, Florida. I was the Caretaker/POA for my aging friend without a family, a 64 year old Veteran with Dementia.
I just was not comfortable. I’d hope to find an Assisted Living Facility that would/could fill the needs of my friend, who did not want to be there in the first place; he wanted to be at apt/home with his things, and who wouldn’t? But, he needed at a minimum, 24 hour nursing to administer his medications.
I met a lot of the staff there and they were nice, but I was not convinced, until I heard Marlene speak to me and my friend, and I then knew it was the place for him. It’s kind of hard to believe one person can make such a huge difference in an Assisted Living community, but Marlene sure did it.
Without her, we would not have moved him in , nor would we still be there had she not helped him adjust for weeks and months to now, he calls it home.
The rest is history but the resident is on a path that is comfortable, organized and stable. It has made a world of difference for me being the caretaker/POA and a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders! She is the BEST!
